Do I need a permit? – Most work with culverts and drain tile will need a permit application. If unsure, please visit our rules page to see what constitutes needing a permit.
Why do I need to apply for a permit? – Applying for a permit allows us to know what work is being done in the District.
Do I need a permit from other entities or agencies? – That depends on the work that you are wanting to do. In cases of drain tile, it would be beneficial to check with the DNR to see if your land is in a protected wetland for instance.
Do I need to contact anyone besides the District about my application? – Yes, you should reach out to your neighbors and other affected landowners of your project.
